FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a huge part of all youth sports.  Money raised goes to the purchase of new equipment, supplies, scholarships, community events (i.e. Homecoming Parade, Youth Night) and End of Year Celebrations.

What Fundraising Activities Happen During the Year?

  • BYFCA typically hosts a single fundraiser activity during the season. (e.g. Raffle for a golf cart)
  • Each player is asked to sell a certain number of raffle tickets.
  • Players and Teams that sell the most tickets get special prizes and events at the end of the season.

PRACTICES

When Are Practices?

Practices typically start the last week of July.
Practices are typically Tuesday's and Thursday's from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In addition:

Football | All Teams:

  • Each team is given the option to add a third practice each week.
  • Typically, Saturday mornings are selected to help players get used to playing Saturday mornings in advance of games.
  • Practices on Saturday are replaced by games once games begin.
  • Coaches can add or drop practices and may adjust their practice times when it starts getting dark earlier.
  • Your Coach will communicate their specific practice schedule through the mobile app.

Cheer | All Teams:

  • Coaches are given the option to move to one practice a week after the season (games) start

What Happens If We Miss Practice?

We understand things come up and practices will be missed.  However, if your athlete misses practice, parents and athletes should expect reduced playing time. This is the Coach's decision, as missed practices can become a concern for their safety and those around them.  We still ask that they attend the game in support of their teammates.  If your athlete is unable to attend a practice or game, please notify your team Coach in advance or as soon as possible.

Are Practices Cancelled When It's Raining?

No.  Practice will only be cancelled in the event of lightning or field flooding.  We will always monitor weather conditions and send a notification in the event of a cancellation.
